I came to photography early in life and driving late in life….Photography early beacuse both my parents were photographers, driving late because I grew up in NYC and have lived most of my life in Cities.
When I moved to a place where there was no mass transit, I finally had to learn how to drive. Once I did, I went through many stages; first I had to have someone in the car with me-but they couldn’t talk- and no music.  Then I got over that, but it took a while before I could drive at night- or on a highway, or into a large city. It might sound strange, but when you’re is used to being a passenger for thirty years….(or so years…), it takes time to make a change. So- this summer, after getting lost a few too many times, being in areas where there was no cellular service and trying to drive with a print-out of a google map,  I finally got a GPS. I call her (yes, her) “Gilly”, after the Kristen Wiig SNL character…And still, I question where she is taking me…
